Weddingville

Jun 24 2010 by Ari Neufeld

I was featured this month in Canada's most prestigious wedding magazine, Real Weddings!! If you get a copy, be sure to notice the incredible photos taken by Ellen Ho, photographer at God's Mountain Resort. Weddings all over the place. 7 this summer, without even trying. It's nuts! But it sure is a fun challenge! Weddings tend to be such a diverse melting pot of ideals, differences, family and business. I'm incredibly honored to serenade so many special people's special day. I am NOT the wedding singer. I just happen to sing at the odd wedding.

Newfoundland, Rich reunion and the Railway

Jun 05 2010 by Ari Neufeld

Richard St Onge and I are finally reunited after all this time! We reminisce that it was 7 years ago when we shared a little basement suite with Chris O'Neill in Kitsilano, Vancouver. I arrived in St John's Newfoundland 2 hours before Rich's cello recital. His Masters in Cello Performance. Wow. He killed it. After 4 quick days in NFL (ha!) packing Rich's stuff up, we headed to Halifax. Who gave us a ride from the airport?? Fred Penner!! We're old friends! Our Via Rail train left on the 17th. Rich and I were rewarded two…

Michael Bolton, "You ready to soft rock?"

May 24 2010 by Ari Neufeld

Michael Bolton? Soft rock saxaphone solo mania? I opened for him at the South Okanagan Events Center on April 10th. My goodness, this guy literally defines a certain genre of music, and hair. His infamous mane is etched in my memory as the quintessential mullet, waving gently in the wind, as some of the juiciest love songs croon out in a faked rasp, sexy like Brian Adams, but silky and more mellow. I was honored to have my 20 minutes in the sun, as I had claimed that huge stage last year while helping out for the…

Dreams.... big ones!!

Mar 09 2010 by Ari Neufeld

So, after all this time, I finally girded up my loins enough to gear up this incredible show with some fantastic people at the Dream Cafe. I was enthralled, first of all, that the mighty Pierre Coutore was into the idea of recording a live show at the Dream Cafe. Accordingly, I booked the great and gentle giant, who is Corwin Fox, who was plumed with some of the sickest recording gear I have ever in my life been privy to. Then I begged Chris to come up from Nanaimo on a whim. He sang like…

Streaming Cafe

Apr 05 2009 by Nico Boesten

Wow... Most people didn't know what was going on when I sent out my invites for the show last night. The Streaming Cafe is a very cutting edge venue that gives indepedent, unsigned, relatively unknown artists a platform to perform for a global audience in a live streaming environment. It is another entrepreneurial endeavour of Kelowna's new elite artists group who have been scheming up innovative ways to promote the artists moving throughout our community in super high tech mediums. Totally nerve racking, performing for a global audience. We had 80 viewers logged onto the site (streamingcafe.net) at 8pm,…
